MOPS & MOMSnext

What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children. MOPS also encourages and supports moms through resources such as books, the MOPS website and the MOPS International Membership.
What is MOMSnext?
MOPS is only for moms who have preschool children, but MOMSnext is for mothers of school-aged kids. We have now meshed the two, to accommodate more moms. Due to childcare restrictions, our MOMSnext group will only be open to moms of elementary children and who do not need childcare.
What does a MOPS/MOMSnext meeting look like?
Each time we meet, we will share a warm breakfast and coffee, enjoy an icebreaker, work on a craft together or listen to a topical speaker, and later break into smaller groups where we can fellowship, bond, and relate to one another as we share experiences of child-rearing.
If you are eligible for MOPS, your children are welcome to participate in our MOPPETS program. MOPPETS provides age appropriate care for infants through kindergarten, and allows children to interact with others their age.
We have also added a program for your school-aged homeschooled children! We are excited to offer them a time of music, snacks, and some other activities. Please note, this is only for MOPS-eligible moms. If you are planning to bring your school-aged children, please contact us so that we can give you more detailed information.
Where and when are the MOPS/MOMSnext meetings?
MOPS/MOMSnext will meet right here at Calvary, every first and third Tuesday beginning September 20, 2011. Our meetings will run from 9:00 to 11:15 am.
MOPS International requires us to register the Moms that will be regularly attending. If you are not yet ready to make that commitment, we ask that you please RSVP you and your child(ren) for this event so that we can assure adequate childcare.
